If you want an affordable stay then the Carlton Hotel is ideal, opposite the Wellington Pier, and just one-hundred metres from the Grosvenor Casino.

Down the road at Camperdown is the Andover House Hotel (adults only) which offers a touch of luxury. Stayed there many times and a lovely place: quiet, clean and tidy and attentive staff.

Ladies Day is very popular and takes place on the Thursday of the 3-day Eastern Festival which is their flagship meeting every September. Best to get your tickets early as it’s often a sellout.

Also, worth noting that Great Yarmouth Grosvenor Casino (pictured) is less than two miles down the road. Excellent fun after a day at the races and an evening of roulette (Yes, I’m speaking from experience). You will need identification to become a member, which is free and straightforward.
